I heart Nora, by the way.

You know what? I'm still figuring this all out, too. I think the Young @ Heart Film Discussion should actually be where you click the link above "January's Film Discussion - Young @ Heart" . Every month will have its own link like that. That makes more sense. On this comment wall, how about we talk about music documentaries in general - whatever comes up. For the people who already posted comments about Young @ Heart, how would you feel about re-posting them here? I'm a newbie, too.

Penelope, I totally agree. It's so clear how much the choir enhanced each of it's members lives. The choir was a truly genius concept on the part of Bob Climan, the leader.

Colin, you are such a pirate! As a doc filmmaker, I don't encourage pirating doc films, but that having been said, I hope you've had a chance to see the film because it's really great. And thanks for the tips on Townes Van Zandt: Be Here to Love Me
and The Devil and Daniel Johnston. I just put them in our Amazon store. I'm going to have to check those out.

Mom (full disclosure, Kate is my mom) will you post Nora on the group page? I think you do this by clicking add video a the top of your screen. I have to be a topic cop here and pull the conversation back to Young @ Heart.

I loved this documentary. It transmitted the feelings of the members of the chorus (the anticipation, joy, fear, intelligence, caring for each other) even though many of the member are (were) from a generation that does not believe in showing more than a "stiff upper lip". Having spent much time with my elders I felt happy and fulfilled to see how these peoples lives were so fulfilled by the camaraderie and mental and creative expression they were able to share. The making and distribution of this film is very important as a reminder to all that people can keep giving and sharing and thriving at any age. I am so in love with Bob!! What a great man!

You should see Be Here to Love me: The Towns Van Zant doc + Check out The Devil v.s Daniel Johnston
two of my favorite there's also a Bob Dylan documentry thats pretty rare showing Bob and John Lennon in a limo ride its only like 15 minutes long and Bob is acting so pretentious and John calls him on it then Bob gets all sad and insecure and wants to go to his
hotel room. I think its the most revealing thing ive seen on film about that time in his life,
anyway those are really good

I love that Leonard Cohen Flick also
